About the garden

* The is the official site for the Joseph J. Vallari Victory Garden, or as we call it The Miami Beach Victory Garden. This community garden is dedicated to the memory of the men and women who were stationed in training camps in Miami Beach during WWII.

* The garden has 20 plots and it's under the care of the Parks and Recreation Department of City of Miami Beach, but it's managed by a core of community volunteers. Therefore all the views expressed herein are our own's and not the city's.

* If you are interested in placing your name on the waiting list please email the miamibeachvictorygarden@gmail.com.

* The 8 week garden school curriculum is open to the public through this blog, the "hands-on" class will take place at the garden on Sundays from 8:00-9:30 AM. The first class begins March 22, 2009 and ends May 10, 2009.

* A new session will begin in September and information about it will be posted in August, 2009.
